A Christian Mandate to Empower: A Practical Guide to Empowerment. It focuses on challenging and redefining religious language in light of the realities of oppression and social ills. For his intense studies in African American Church culture and religion, Pastor Blake received a Certificate in Black Church Studies from the Kelly Miller Smith Institute at Vanderbilt University. On December 19, 2009, Pastor Blake was conferred with the Masters of Divinity degree from Vanderbilt.
